"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." -Albert Einstein
I believe that teaching is an art and a privilege, and I am thrilled to be teaching English at Windsor High School. I have taught English Literature, Environmental Education, and English as a Foreign Language in the United States and abroad. I particularly love teaching English Literature because I get to help students engage with issues and experiences encountered in literary works and articulate thoughtful responses to narratives from various cultures and backgrounds. Analyzing literature together, we build critical thinking, communication, and language skills. These skills help us better appreciate the journeys of others, which empowers each student to more successfully navigate the challenges of his/her own life journey. My heartfelt wish is that the minds and spirits of my students will be enlivened, inspired, and challenged to greater creativity and consciousness by the content of our class. I completed my Bachelors degree at Westmont College with a major in English Literature and a minor in Art. I received my teaching credential from Sonoma State University. I live in Guerneville with my wonderful husband, two fantastic daughters, eight noisy chickens, two bossy cats and two lazy horses.
